This is the perfect system to use for garage storage, where wooden or metal cabinets would be likely to get dinged by yard tools, cars, and so on.
The cabinet is easy to assemble-you don't need tools to do it, though a soft mallet may be helpful. As you expect with Rubbermaid products, the cabinet is almost indestructible. The one complaint I had is that when I put mine together in my basement the unevenness of the floor caused a slight misalignment of the doors. This was easily corrected with a shim placed under the front edge.
Notable plusses include lightweight construction that makes relocating the cabinets easy and an amazingly small footprint for what it can hold. If you intend to store toxic items, you may want to consider ordering a set of locks from the manufacturer.
Looking for affordable storage for your basement or garage? This is the unit for you.--Josh Dettweiler

I generally like the units. They went together easily with a rubber mallet. However, two of the eight doors (two units) stick. When opening or closing they stick and the side of the unit bulges out. I did not have the unit level while constructing but subsequently leveled it. The leveling and filling the unit up with stuff helped the situation. I like the plastic construction because I live in a salty air environment so metal is not a good choice.

I was not sure when I saw the box was in tough shape, but once removed and put together I was very satisfied. It is the second unit I have purchased and would recommend to anyone.

I ordered this cabinet and received it promptly, but there were 4 missing parts when it arrived. The box was not damaged in shipment, so I could only assume it came that way from the manufacturer. I had to call Rubbermaid to obtain the missing parts. They were very nice and promptly sent the parts out, but during our conversation they stated "these items are packed by hand and this sometimes happens." If you order this cabinet, be sure to unpack the box as soon as you receive it and make sure all the parts are there. Also, there was nothing in or on the box that had a customer service phone number. I had to look it up on the Rubbermaid web site.
ALSO - The parts for this cabinet were very roughly molded. I had to shave off ragged edges to get the doors to open and close smoothly. The assembly instructions were a series of pictures printed on the side of the box, so that was of very little help. Fortunately this cabinet is pretty easy to assemble. The price seemed kind of high to me for plastic parts with ragged edges and missing pieces.

The item arrived in perfect condition with all of its parts. Great Box! It traveled from Indianapolis, IN thru Resistencia, AR, on its way to Chicago, IL. Not sure what that was all about. My wife likes the extra storage and says its "quite sturdy". Assembly was somewhat like working a giant rubiks cube but with a happier ending. The instructions were printed on the back of the box. Great idea! But forget the advertised 15 minute assembly. A rubber mallet is essential and so is a bit of dexterity and patience. Hint: Use the mallet sparingly until the parts are properly aligned. This part was a bit of a challenge for me. No parts were left over, though. It was very easy to tell if something was missing. Also it is slightly larger than the advertised 72 inches tall; so it didn't fit where I wanted it. Tight space, but we found a good place for it, and I highly recommend this cabinet. Would not recommend this for combustible materials, though. The shelves offer adequate space for larger items. There are certainly less expensive units out there but this one is built like a tank and isn't very heavy either. It's perfect for indoor storage in your garage or basement or even outdoors if exposure to the elements is not a concern.

Not impressed. Rubbermaid use to be Tougher than this. The quality seems to be the same as those cheaper brands now. No Differece. I would go to a Lowes Home Improvement, Home Depot or Sears and buy something from them for LESS. The quality is the same! Rubbermaid used to be tougher, but the High Quality is NOT there any more. How sad is that? Very sad for me because I spent extra money for quality that I did not get. The Rubbermaid High Quality Reputation has taken a plummet folks! Oh well. Learn from my advice.
