"Does exactly what I needed it for" 2010-01-14

I like to organize tools by job or function (electrical, plumbing, etc). It makes it so much faster to grab tools to go fix something.

This bag holds lots of stuff, with pouches on the inside and outside. There's an optional shoulder strap, and even a way of securing a level (which is usually a pain).

I like bags much more than metal tool boxes, as they don't slide around the truck as much. They also don't rust or dent (then you get to fight with the lid).

The material BB uses to make these is pretty tough. I have a few of their things that are at least 10 years old, and they are still in good shape. A professional tradesman would wear them out faster, but they should still last for years.

This bag does what it should, and it could obviously hold things that aren't tools. I'm thinking of getting one for luggage.

"A good bag for the job" 2010-01-04

Let me first say, I am a fan of Bucket Boss. I have had the smaller Bucket Boss bag for years, and have been very happy with it. I didn't want to go up in size, because I end up carrying my tool bag all over the place when I'm working, and a bigger bag means I'll end up putting in more tools which will weigh more... I digress.

So I bought the Long Boy, and it has worked great. I will say that it does not have much individual storage for smaller tools. I use a tool roll for things like screwdrivers, scissors, etc. Then I put expendables like wire in the outside pockets, where I'll be able to find them quickly. Power tools like my drill and charger go on one side of the movable divider inside, and larger hand tools go on the other side with the tool roll. It's not a perfect system, because I have to take the tool roll out to get to smaller tools. But the bag has held up well, it's comfortable to carry with the strap, and the shape works for my needs.

"Not just for tools, perfect for knitters, quilters, and crafters and general" 2009-09-19

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect bag for knitters and other crafters..., September 18, 2009

Ok, this bag is obviously intended for macho applications -- carrying power tools to be thrown in the back of "pick 'em up" trucks but this bag is perfect for the crafter in your life as well. Why? Let me count the ways:

1. Cost -- This bag will last forever but unlike some of the more decorative bags like ArtisanStreet's Taupe Animal Landscape Tapestry Carpet Bag with Detachable Shoulder Strap. Features Pre-Historic Animals in the Highly Detailed Fabric Design. Use as an Overnight Bag or Even as a Briefcase, this still has classic looks for 1/5th the price. That will buy a LOT of yarn or fabric to add to your stash! While it may not look as "refined" as a tapestry tote, it still has classic looks and will last LONG after the tapestry tote has started to give up the ghost...

2. Size -- If you like work on large projects -- full-size quilts, afgahns etc -- this bag gives you plenty of room to store your work in progress PLUS your materials to be used.

3. Pockets galore -- perfect for quick and easy access to patterns, needles, thread, measuring tape and just about every other notion you could imagine.

4. Quality -- this bag will never give out. It was designed to carry hammers and nails. It will laugh a hearty laugh at your lace knitting needles or craft scissors...

5. Ease of access -- you can get your project in and out quickly so knitting/crocheting/sewing a few stitches while waiting for the doctor, the plane, or Gudo makes great use of your time and allows you to get a quick fiber fix...

These bags have achieved a cult-like following on many knitter forums (which is where I learned of them). Don't let the fact that they were designed for construction work scare you off... This is a much easier and stylish way to carry your works-in-progress around instead of using tattered plastic bags and expensive knitting bags and it will protect your investment (both in terms of time and money) while allowing you to stay organized and take your work with you wherever you go.

BTW, these also make great airline carry on bags to carry books, a change of clothes, etc as well.

 "Large & Sturdy" 2009-03-26
By M. Tyson (Oak Harbor, WA USA)
I bought this bag to hold a cordless tool set and it fits the bill perfectly. It's large enough to hold all the tools easily (drill, saw, light and vacuum), plus the pouches on the inside and outside are great for holding bits, blades, drivers - everything that goes with your tools. The construction is sturdy, there has been no stress carrying the tool load I've put in it - looks like it is built to last a lifetime.

 "COMPLETE CARRIER" 2009-03-17

This is a sturdy bag that is huge! I bought it for long tools and this fits the bill. All construction is durable and the only plastic is the zipper-all other parts are metal. Six big pockets on the outside and 9 slit pockets on one side of the inside with divider(w/velcro fastener). Great product that should be made in America.
