 "Two thumbs up" 2010-06-19
By BSJ1
Sockets have been the bane of my existence. No matter how carefully I put them down, they seem to end up rolling around on the floor or in the toolchest. I used to waste a good 5-10 minutes per task simply sorting through them to find the right one. Given some of my projects would require 3-4 different socket sizes, this chewed up time. I tried the vertical plastic holders sold at Sears; these are the types where you drop the socket on a stick. Fail. The sticks would break off, deep and large-diameter sockets wouldn't fit properly/securely, the whole tray would slide around and they weren't really portable.

This tray has solved my problem. There's a long magnet underneath the tray to hold the tray to the toolchest or other metallic surface. There's a magnet at each socket slot, holding the socket in the slot. First, the bad news: they really are green, the green is an ugly fluorescent green and they are designed for graded sockets. Basically, you can't put 10 24 mm deep sockets in them and they don't look pretty. Now, the good news: the magnets are strong, sockets fit, hex bits fit, torx bits fit, there's a carrying handle and they are fairly rugged. I turned them upside down and shook them pretty vigorously and couln't get any of the sockets to fall out.

Overall, A+.

I have 4 of these. I have used them for years. The first thing I do is saw the handle off so it will fit in my tool box. I like them a lot. Color is wrong in the photo; it really green.

Great for organizing all of those sockets! It also is magnetic on the back to stick to a metal tool chest, etc.

 "Handy socket holder" 2008-04-09
By S. Litchfield
This is the best system I have found for holding sockets whether kept hanging on the wall or carried to the work. Sockets are easily accessible, but will not fall out with normal handling. However, if you have a hodgepodge of sizes or a lot of duplicates, this may not be the holder for you as it is designed for a set of graduated sizes.

"Solved my tool storage issues" 2008-02-11
By M. Rudo (Northern Virginia)
I bought a nice socket set on clearance a few years ago and the sockets just kept rolling around my cabinet. Finding a specific size was a tedious task for a simple job like an oil change.

This solved my organization problems...which means I can buy more tools. YAY!

Strong magnets to hold sockets in place, and strong magnet on the back to hold the unit where ever you want...even vertically on the side of my metal tool cabinet.

"Great tool bag, watch out it can get heavy fast." 2010-07-16
By Z71USA (Oregon)
I'm a Field Service Engineer and I've been using this bag for almost a year now. I occasionally fly with my tools and this bag has been checked probably a dozen or more times now. It frequently comes off the baggage claim upside down but this thing has held up great and it only has one small scuff on the top lid. I find that I've had to load it down with so many parts and tools that it has become too heavy for me to carry around so I purchased a magnacart folding hand truck to dolly it around. The four slimmer pockets on the outside work great for quick access to your go to tools. I use 4 caribeeners on the outside to keep the zippers up when I check it, so far knock on wood I haven't lost any tools yet. The only knock I can give it is I wish it had a handle and wheels. Great BAG! and Stanley has really stepped it up a knotch with this one!

 "A shop in a bag" 2009-05-08
By Jay Brandt
I bought this for my brother as a birthday present - he's the handy man of the family - and he loves it. As soon as he opened it, he liked it and the more he opened pockets, unzipped areas, and messed with it, the more he liked it - almost to the exclusion of all his other gifts. Some of the things he liked about it:

- It's big. You can fit most of the small tools of an average homeowners shop into this thing.

- Pockets and more pockets. It's got pockets inside, outside, and all around. There's a place for everything and it's all held securely with snaps, Velcro, or zipper as appropriate.

- You can carry it in your hand, using the regular handle or over your shoulder with the shoulder strap and both are padded and comfortable.

- While obviously it hasn't been used heavily yet, it appears to be high quality construction - heavy nylon, double stitched, all the edges folded over and stitched. It appears to be the kind of thing that can get heavy use for years to come.

In my brother's words it's "pretty much everything you'd want in a tool bag".

"Great addition to the many tools and storage accessories" 2008-04-21
By Amy Hersom (Boston, MA)
My husband is a contractor who works full time and then comes home to continue working on our home. I bought this bag as a Christmas gift and it's being well used. It is no longer neat and clean...it's covered in plaster and saw dust but holds up well storing his tools. It's a heavy duty bag with a hard top and plenty of compartments for extra blades, screws, and whatever else a construction guy wants to put in there. I'm sure it would be great for any normal "Mr. fix it" as well. The base is better than plastic as it won't scratch wood floors and the shoulder stap makes it eaiser to carry aound.

The machinest tool chest is pretty well made. Quite good for the cost. I sure wish the company would actually send items to Alaska. I had to have it shipped to family then sent on to me. It took six weeks to actually get the item.

 "Perfect for Little Helper" 2010-05-11
By Lauren A. Watson (Athens, GA)
This is a great two belt for my 2 1/2 year old that likes to be a little helper. We have to tie it now b/c it still doesn't take up enough to fasten and stay on her waste, but she loves it and feels like a "big helper" wearing it around to help with jobs.

 "Cute but poor shape" 2008-07-06
By JEMAC
This was very cute and will be something for our daughter to wear with her dad when he is doing construction jobs. However, all of the rivets were extremely rusted over, I spent almost an hour trying to use rust remover on them. I don't know where it was stored or how wet it got, but something happened to it, and having to clean up a product before giving it as a gift is not my idea of fun. It would have been an excellent purchase had it not been so damaged. Good thing it's something she'll be wearing outside, but still wish it wouldn't have had that strange problem.

 "a great bag" 2010-03-07
By BlackHawk (Santa Clarita, CA)
This is a great bag, lots of pockets, the 'gate mouth' concept works well and the zipper is easier to zip one handed than non-gate mouth bags. (The gate mouth means it has a rigid opening that opens up very wide, the rigidity is provided via some heavy gauge steel wire which is why zipping the bag up is a lot easier than a non rigid mouth bag and also makes the opening stay open as its widest without effort.) The bag is very tough, well put together and someone else mentioned that the pad on the shoulder strap could be bigger - I agree however it isn't a deal breaker. (If you over stuff the bag, you should expect to get a sore shoulder whether the pad is small or large.)

I honestly can't say anything bad about the bag - I've had it for something like a couple of months and it does exactly what it needs to and hasn't shown any problems in build or design quality.

 "one great bag" 2008-03-16
By Joseph Tosti
Ive owned this bag for 3 years and its still going strong. It carries a huge amount of tools. The shoulder strap is very strong, the amount of tools I carry everyday in this bag should have broke it long ago, like other guys (want to be bucket boss bags) straps breaking, and then using a piece of wire to replace it. Nothing but thumbs up for this bag, and for bucket boss !

"Tool Bag for Field Service work" 2007-10-06
By Alan Daly
In the machinery field service industry different types of tools are needed for different types of jobs. Hydraulic, mechanical, electrical and electronic troubleshooting tools can be separated into three or four different bags, of different sizes or lengths.

Often heavy and needing to be carried deep into manufacturing buildings, often through offices, requires durability and good appearance.

These bags answer the call and give the customer a good impression of your professionalism.
